The editorial team of Consortium Psychiatricum is pleased to announce the topics for 2024 issues.

As the year draws to a close, the Consortium Psychiatricum Editorial Board has once again met internationally to take stock and strategise the Journal's progress and plans.

The final Consortium Psychiatricum issue of  2023 has been published. 

Scopus has indexed all Consortium Psychiatricum articles since 2020 and derived its Cite Score.

PsyJournals.ru is a unique Russian thematic repository of scientific periodicals in all branches of psychology and related sciences.

This issue will focus on social psychiatry, cultural attributes and associations of mental health conditions, social psychology, social anthropology, sociology and socio-cultural aspects of psychopathology and psychotherapy.

Recently, the national bibliographic database Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) released metrics for the Russian scientific journals. The report is available at the eLibrary website: https://elibrary.ru/title_profile.asp?id=75532

According to experts, the two-year Impact Factor of the Consortium Psychiatricum journal has increased from 1.0 (2021) to 1.319 (2022). The Impact Factor is a measure of the number of times an average paper in a journal is cited, during a year. 

The number of the journal citations has increased in about 2.5 times in 2022. There is also a significant increase in the number of articles views and downloads in 2022 compared to 2021.

Today, on the World Mental Health Day we would like to remind our readers that everybody has a right to mental health and professional mental healthcare.

A new thematic issue fully dedicated to Digital Psychiatry has been published!

The issue brings together articles on how new technologies – artificial intelligence, telemedicine – work for psychiatry.

Consortium Psychiatricum has successfully passed the Scientific Quality Review for PubMed Central. All full-text versions of articles published since 2021 will be indexed in the world’s largest biomedical library after technical setup.

A new thematic issue of Consortium Psychiatricum fully dedicated to eating disorders has been published!

The issue brings together papers on various scientific and practical aspects of eating disorders: risk factors, treatment, the role of specialists from related fields in organizing care, neurobiological perspective.

The editorial team of Consortium Psuchiatricum continues to monitor current news from our colleagues. The PsyJournals.ru portal of psychological publications has published a new issue of Autism and Developmental Disorders.

In January 2023, JAMA Psychiatry issued an international multicohort study on blood lipidome profiles in patients with severe mental disorders.

Consortium Psychiatricum publishes an interview with Russian authors of the publication.

Olga Karpenko, deputy editor-in-chief of the journal, talked to three research teams involved in the study. These were representatives of the Mental Health Clinic No.1 named after N.A. Alexeev, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, the Mental Health Research Center.

The second interview of the series features prof. Philipp Khaitovich and his research team, including the first author of the article, Anna Tkachev. The participants discuss why studying blood plasma lipidome turned out to be such a good idea for psychiatry, whether it can really represent a marker of psychiatric disorders as well as what it takes to produce a top-level scientific publication.

Consortium Psychiatricum is announcing a call for papers for the thematic issue on Digital psychiatry.

We plan to cover the following topics:

• Telemental health and psychiatry
• e-Mental Health
• The use of modern digital technologies (Virtual Reality, chatbots, smartphone apps, social media) in the diagnostics (and self-diagnostics) of mental disorders
• Digital technology and early intervention
• The role of digital technology in the treatment of mental disorders

According to the decision of Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) on 06.12.2022, the scientific journal Consortium Psychiatricum was accepted for indexing in the Scopus database on 06.12.2022.

Consortium Psychiatricum is collecting papers for the thematic issue on eating disorders.

As we approach the winter holidays, Consortium Psychiatricum editorial board gathered at Mental-health Clinic No. 1 named after N.A. Alexeev, Moscow to reflect on the journal's achievements since its inception in 2020 and plans for 2023.  

The Consortium Psychiatricum journal is now indexed by SCOPUS, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

The Russian Board emphasized the high quality of English, as well as the impressive geographical representation of the editorial board.

In addition, the journal was added to the American Psychological Association (APA) PsycInfo coverage list.

These important steps in the development of the journal have been made possible by the hard work of the authors, editors, reviewers, and the entire Consortium Psychiatricum team.

Alexeev.

To commemorate the World Mental Health Day 2022, we held a panel discussion with early-career scientists in the field of mental health who participated in the creation of the new special issue of Consortium Psychiatricum. The discussion was moderated by Olga Karpenko, deputy editor-in-chief of the journal.

The participants talked about their research, the articles they submitted for the Consortium Psychiatricum Research Papers Competition, professional burnout, self-discovery and dichotomy between science and practice.

World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was established in 2003 in conjunction with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is a significant advocacy and communication based event aimed at reaching national organisations, governments and the general public, giving a singular message that suicide can be prevented.

We spoke with the guest editor of the thematic issue of Consortium Psychiatricum on suicides and disasters, Professor Vsevolod Rozanov about the following topics:

• how to prevent suicide;
• his study of factors influencing suicidal behavior in men and women;
• what suicidology is and what makes it a paradoxical science.

Vsevolod Rozanov is a professor at the St. Petersburg State University, chief scientist at the V.M. Bekhterev National  Medical  Research  Center for  Psychiatry and Neurology and a co-chair of the suicidology section of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA).

Women in Psychiatry and Psychology: Interview

To be more than an academic journal has been the mission of Consortium Psychiatricum since its very inception. We constantly strive to share experience and create dialogue, therefore we look for new ways of interaction between authors, readers and the editorial team. 

Following this mission, our team has launched a special “Interview” section: we talk to our authors, guest editors, and editorial board members to get to know more about them and the importance of their academic work.

The latest conversation is dedicated to the role of women in psychology and our heroines are members of the editorial board and authors of the journal. They recall what led them to the profession, share some wisdom with the new generation, give advice on how not to get bored during the next COVID-19 wave, and talk about what it’s like to work in mental health and advance science being a modern woman.

On the World Mental Health Day, we talked to Prof. George Kostyuk, Editor-in-Chief of Consortium Psychiatricum, about the new scientific journal, Russian psychiatry, and science in general.

I am pleased to introduce the third issue of the journal Consortium Psychiatricum. This is a thematic issue devoted to individuals’ first psychotic episode. The articles included in this issue cover biological, social, and clinical issues connected with the first episode of psychosis. 

In the editorial article, Professor Heinz Katschnig shares his experiences of organizing a family school to learn how to live with schizophrenia that has been functioning in Vienna for 35 years. It is a good example of the development of independent living skills and autonomy of young patients who faced psychosis.

The problem of compliance and factors that mediate drug compliance in patients after their first psychotic episode are explored in the research article by colleagues from St. Petersburg. Clinical features of manifest psychoses in patients admitted to the “First episode psychosis clinic” in 2020 and 2019 are described by colleagues from Moscow. A fundamental article on lipid biomarkers in schizophrenia, as written by a group of scientists from Skolkovo in collaboration with clinicians from the leading mental clinics in Moscow, shares findings about ceramide species’ alterations that might be specific to patients with schizophrenia. 

The historical review of research in social psychiatry conducted at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry and the implementation of results in clinical practice was written by authors from the Department of Social and Biological Research of the Institute. 

Articles on the organization of community mental care have come from India and Mexico.

Dear colleagues!

I am pleased to introduce the second issue of Consortium Psychiatricum journal in 2021. It is a thematic issue devoted to the forthcoming ICD-11 implementation and to the chapter on Mental, Behavioural and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. From 2022, country members of the World Health Organization are recommended to start the transition from ICD-10 to ICD-11. Knowledge of changes in the classification is essential for its further adoption along with awareness of attitudes and concerns about ICD-11 innovations among mental healthcare professionals.

In this issue, we collected articles that, from our point of view, highlight the changes in the classification system and at the same time reflect the views of professionals from different countries of the world.

The editorial article on ICD-11 Revision of Mental Disorders is presented by a group of experts including Dr. Melita Vujnovic, WHO Representative to the Russian Federation, and Professor Geoffrey Reed who served as the Senior Project Officer for the ICD-11 chapter on Mental, Behavioral and Neurodevelopmental Disorders and other related chapters.

Cultural aspects of mental disorders that play a substantial role in the new classification are explored in the review article. A report on the participation of Russian clinicians in the ICD-11 development and implementation is followed by two research articles presenting studies of the attitudes of the Russian professional community regarding ICD-11 and the use of ICD-10 by Russian psychiatrists.

From this issue we start a new rubric in the journal – Discussion – where different views on the same problem are presented. We publish two articles on the gender identity issue in relation to the fundamental changes made in ICD-11 depathologizing transgender identities. A detailed review of the transgender concepts that preceded the removal of gender identity from the mental disorders chapter is presented in one article, while another article focuses on the problem of high mental health comorbidity prevalence in transgender people that may require close attention by mental health professionals.

Another new rubric in the journal is named Historical Perspective. We plan to publish keynote papers of the past that influenced progress in psychiatry, accompanied by commentaries by contemporary professionals, or papers by contemporary authors that illuminate the historical background of the concepts that are still developed or discussed in current times. In this issue, we publish an article about the evolution of approaches to schizophrenia diagnostics from Kraepelin to the present.

A commentary on the perspectives of ICD-11 implementation in Russia is made by Professor Valery Krasnov who was a principal in the ICD-11 field studies in Russia.

Our traditional rubric - Special Articles - on the organization of community mental care by countries, is also continued in this issue. The experience of Qatar, Serbia and Italy is shared by distinguished experts from these regions.
